Hey guys, it’s Michael once more, seems like last time I showed my feminine side and told you guys about my favourite movie “Her”. Well this time we’re going back to testosterone (well kinda) fuelled antics and a game you generally play with the boys (and sometimes girls, I’m not a misogynist, honest!).

My friends and I just love to play Foosball. So much so that we are thinking of chipping in together and buying a table so that we can have weekly tournaments and get togethers. My best mate, Tommy, has a huge space in his garage and could easily host a foosball table. Plus he already has a mini-bar in there so it’s basically gonna be heaven. We usually go to a bar to play, but his house would be much more convenient and would work out cheaper in the long run. The bar is a bit out of town whilst Tommy’s house is pretty much in the middle of the four of us (there are four of us in total who play foosball regularly and want to get our own table).

The table they have in the bar (which we all like) is made by a company called Carrom. From doing a bit of research I have found they are an American company that have been around for more than 100 years and are widely considered to be the makers of some of the best Foosball tables. Not so much in the professional mould, but the kind of tables you would find in a bar or someone’s home. They have a few very nice looking tables and I considered a few of them. The foosball tables that caught my eye in the Carrom range were the Carrom 750.33 Burr Oak table and the Carrom 750.20 Agean foosball table. The Agean in particular is finished in a really cool green colour and looks very cool and stylish. Was a big fan of that table and would to see one in the flesh.

Tornado is another brand that seemed to crop up when perusing the Internet. The Tornado Tournament 3000 is a proper foosball table and takes it to a professional level. It also looks pretty damn cool as well. Probably a little out of our budget though, unless we could find a good deal somewhere.

Next up on my list to check out were Garlando. Again they are considered the manufacturer of some of the finest tables out there, and they have been making tables since the 1950s. They are a European company that I think are based in Italy. They are the maker of a weather proof foosball table called the Garlando G-500. Perfect if you want to move the table outdoors and you get stuck in a bit of rain. I was really a fan of this table and thought the other guys would love it too. Not only does it withstand the rain but it is designed to stop the sun from bleaching the colour, so if you forget to bring it back inside, then it really is no problem at all. The Garlando F-200 is also a really good table, and is considered to be entry level professional (which we think we are, haha).  These tables really are made to the highest of qualities, so it is a Garlando that I wanted to go looking for.

So having conferred with the rest of the group they agreed that we should go for a Garlando. Well it was 3:1 in favour of the Garlando so as we live in a democratic society the majority vote won the day. Now where to buy one from? I had a look on Amazon and the Garlando G-500 is going for a little shy of EXPENSIVE, so if we wanted a table of that quality then it was about hunting down a bargain and finding a used foosball table from somewhere. I was talking to a friend of mine and he suggested I look on a classified ads site, and I knew the one to look for straight away. I found our perfect foosball table for around a third less than you can buy them for brand new. We had it delivered and installed within a week and have now been playing for around a month. It has turned into more than just once a week though, practically most nights we go to Tommy’s house. We have a little league going and safe to say that I am top at the moment. Long may it continue, one of the best investments I have ever made!
